Save the Date: Infection Prevention Conference

Mark your calendar for the South Dakota Infection Prevention Council’s annual conference October 3-4, 2013 in Sioux Falls. This year’s theme is “Halloween, “Boo, Who’s Behind You”. The conference celebrates all who are inspired, affected, or motivated by Infection Prevention.

Virtual Improvement Leader Fellowship

We have an exciting opportunity for you!! If you have always wanted to be part of HEN Week and the Improvement Leader Fellowship, it is going VIRTUAL!  Next week, April 24 and 25, the Improvement Leader Fellowship will be held by webinar and no cost to you!  Please encourage your staff, quality improvement and leadership teams to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.  In order to participate in the July national event, you must have completed this portion of the Improvement Leader Fellowship.  Don't miss out!!  Registration information is below!!  There is a pre-conference call today at noon.

The Orlando Fellowship has been made into a live virtual meeting for April 24-25, 2013. We worked with our partners, the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI), to adapt the curriculum to the virtual environment. IHI will be joining us in Chicago to live stream to your hospital, and we are excited for the two days they have put together.

SDAAC Plans Spring Workshop – May 7, 2013

The South Dakota Association of Activity Coordinators will hold a spring workshop on Tuesday, May 7th, at Weskota Manor Avera in Wessington Springs.  The focus of this full day workshop will be on Understanding Handicaps and Programming for the Younger Resident.  Carmen Baker, State Long Term Care Ombudsman, South Dakota Department of Social Services, Department of Adult Services and Aging, will present.

The fee for this workshop is $35 for members of the SDAAC and $70 for non SDAAC members.  The fee for membership in the SDAAC is $25.  Click here to see a workshop agenda.  Registration is limited to 50, so register today!
 
Register for SDAHO Continuing Care Conference by March 29th to be Entered in Early Bird Drawing

Mark your calendars for SDAHO’s 14th Annual Continuing Care Conference scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, April 16 and 17, at the Ramkota Hotel in Pierre, South Dakota.  SDAHO member facilities who register their staff by Friday, March 29th, will be entered in a drawing to win one free registration to the conference.
