SD Unemployment Rate Steady at 4.3%

South Dakota’s June unemployment rate was 4.3% -- unchanged for the last three months. It is down from the rate one-year ago of 4.7%. The actual number of unemployed South Dakotans did shrink over that period from 20,900 to 19,000.
The national unemployment rate remained at 8.2%. But, like the state, the number is improved from last year’s 9.1% figure. The unemployment rate is a significant factor in estimating future revenue growth for the State. |
